How to check your motherboard model
Windows does not put the motherboard model in the most obvious place, and some OEM systems expose placeholder values. These are the quickest reliable checks.

System Information is built into Windows and often shows the baseboard information directly.
- Press Win + R.
- Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
- Look for BaseBoard Manufacturer, BaseBoard Product, and BaseBoard Version.
Use PowerShell
You can query the same WMI/CIM hardware class directly.
Get-CimInstance Win32_BaseBoard | Select-Object Manufacturer, Product, VersionPC Dyno cleanup
PC Dyno hides obvious placeholder values such as “To be filled by O.E.M.” or generic revision strings rather than presenting them as useful motherboard identification.
