PC Dyno is designed to collect only the information needed to identify hardware, create a stable report link, and compare lightweight performance results.
Information the PC Dyno app sends
A report can include detected CPU, GPU, memory, motherboard, and physical storage names and specifications; Windows version and architecture; PC Dyno client version; and lightweight benchmark measurements such as CPU score, GPU score, benchmark version, and graphics renderer identity.
Stable PC identity
PC Dyno may read machine or motherboard identifiers locally to create a stable PC identity. Raw UUIDs, motherboard serials, system serials, and the Windows MachineGuid fallback are not uploaded as raw values. The app hashes the selected identity locally and sends the resulting SHA-256 fingerprint so the same physical PC can keep the same public report link across normal upgrades.
Information PC Dyno does not intentionally collect
PC Dyno does not scan or upload your personal files, browser history, passwords, messages, photos, documents, keystrokes, microphone data, webcam data, or the contents of your drives. Storage detection is limited to hardware/device information exposed by Windows.
IP addresses and server logs
Like most websites and APIs, PC Dyno infrastructure may process IP addresses, user-agent information, request timestamps, and security logs for normal hosting, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and rate limiting. Report submission rate limiting does not intentionally add your raw IP address to the public PC report.
Public report links
PC Dyno reports are accessible to anyone who has the report URL. Individual PC report pages are marked not to be indexed by search engines by default, but you should still treat a report URL as shareable information rather than a private secret. Do not put information into a feedback message that you do not want PC Dyno to receive.
Performance baselines and aggregate data
PC Dyno may use hardware and benchmark observations from reports to build aggregate comparison baselines, improve detection, diagnose compatibility problems, and publish non-personal aggregate hardware statistics. Baselines are designed to use independent PCs rather than allowing repeated scans of one machine to dominate a comparison group.
Retention and deletion requests
Reports may be retained to preserve permanent report links, historical compatibility data, and benchmark baselines. You can submit a deletion request through the feedback page and include the PC Dyno report URL you want reviewed. PC Dyno may need reasonable information to verify that a deletion request relates to a report you control.
Third-party market data
Used-price estimates can be derived from third-party catalogs, APIs, and public market observations. PC Dyno stores the market information needed for aggregate estimates and does not need seller contact information to value a component. See the Data Sources page for more detail.
